Each bag is designed and handcrafted in NYC and is one-of-a-kind.

Coated Fabric

The signature, artisanal ‘beaded’ herringbone hemp is hand-woven by Romanian craftswomen on vintage looms, hand-painted, and finished with a non-toxic fabric technology in the US to increase durability. 

Leather

The luxurious French full-grain, vegetable tanned calfskin is tanned under strict environmental regulations.   The leather will develop a beautiful, natural patina with time and exposure to light.

Lining

The natural, chemical-free European linen lining in signature print was hand-drawn by kyoko kato and is hand-printed with water-based ink by artisans in Brooklyn.  

Hardware

The bags are finished with solid brass industrial, fishing, and boating hardware.  Like the leather, the brass hardware will develop a natural patina with time.

received news today that vegetable-tanned leather will ready by end of october...  however, i am really pushing and hoping for beginning of october, so i can have bags made and shipped before christmas.  let's hope that they can deliver it by then!

bags in berlin and headed to japan

my bags have made it safely to berlin.  however, juli is flying to japan tomorrow so she is bringing the bags along to shoot.  my lucky bags will be seeing berlin and the southern coast of japan, and we'll get to experience it vicariously through the photos.  it reminds me of the gnome in one of my favorite movies, amelie.

tannery

I am sending a few things to the tannery in France today so I googled the address.  What a beautifully scenic location!  Seriously, there are horses in the google satellite photo.  It makes me want to travel to the French countryside.
